FirstEnergy's West Penn Power territory wraps around Pittsburgh to the south, east, and north. Lower rates than Duquesne mean slightly longer paybacks, but the net metering rules are the same statewide.

kWh for kWh
Each kWh you export offsets one kWh you import later, at the full retail rate, on the kWh-based parts of your bill.
Monthly carryover
Extra kWh roll forward month to month, so summer surplus covers the dark winter months.
Annual true-up
Each May 31, West Penn Power pays out any leftover credit at the price to compare, which is less than retail. So don't oversize your system.
